HBO Go is a TV Everywhere service provided by the cable network HBO. It permits HBO users to stream video on demand choices of HBO content, including present and past series, films, specials, and sporting events, via the HBO website, mobile devices and video game consoles.

If HBO Go or Now Crash, Try Watching the App on a Different Device & Make Sure the App Has Been Updated to Its Latest Version
Sometimes the HBO servers get full and HBO Go and Now crash. This is even more likely to happen during big episodes or finales. You might see error messages, the screen may be stuck loading, or the screen might just be blank.
- If HBO Go is down, you should first make sure your app is updated to the most recent version. Sometimes HBO fixes app issues that require updating.
- If that doesn’t help, try restarting the app.
- If that doesn’t work, switch to using the app on a different device. For example, if you’re watching on a website than try watching on your iPad or your phone instead.
- If the app isn’t operating on your iPad, try watching the app on your Xbox instead. For some reason, a few versions of the app might work on one device even if it’s not working on your first device. It’s definitely worth checking out all your options.
- Also, try watching on a different browser. There might be a problem with playback on Chrome while Firefox is working just fine, for example. This has been known to happen before, so it’s certainly worth a try.
Fix HBO Now or Go outage issues on Smartphone and tablets
If you find HBO Go is not working properly on Android and/or iOS smartphones and tablets there are a few things you can do. If you’re on a cellular network, you may notice its connection speed isn’t enough for a good streaming experience. In that case, connecting to a Wi-Fi signal might help. If you have an Android device, firstly go into Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, then choose either “HBO Go.” In both menus, notice the “Clear Cache” option and tap it. For iPhone and iPad, tap on the Menu button in those apps, and tap “Clear temporary files” on the Settings page. Be sure you have the latest app version for either HBO Now installed on your mobile device. It’s possible you hit a bug that’s been fixed in the latest version of the app.

For HBO Now users having password or username issues, you can contact the service to send you the email address details you used for the login or reset your password.
