“You have problems with live stream playback? Do not worry! We are investigating this behavior and hope to remedy the situation in the shortest possible time,” wrote the company. “We currently have longer waiting times than usual, but a lawyer will help you as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience.”
Until 3:00 p.m. PT #, Hulu Down was the second most important topic on Twitter in the United States. The users understandably did not respond positively to the failure.
One of the main causes of user contempt was Hulu’s $ 10 price increase for Hulu + Live TV, which came into effect 24 hours before the outages on Wednesday, December 18. Hulu explained the price increase with the words: “The new price better reflects the significant value of Hulu + Live TV and allows us to continue to offer all of the popular live news, sports and entertainment programs included in the plan.”
