HDMI CEC Control

If your Sound Bar has an HDMI-ARC port, you can use an HDMI cable to connect the Sound Bar to your TV.

When the Sound Bar is connected to your TV via the ARC port, you may require adjusting your TV’s CEC setting to control the external speaker. Some newer models may auto-detect that HDMI-ARC is connected, and automatically begin to control the Sound Bar.

1. Set the soundbar to simply accept a Vizio TV remote as its power on and volume control.  On the soundbar itself, press and hold power and volume up for 5 seconds.  The front LEDs must light up with the central lights brighter.  If not, do it again so that they do.

2. In the next step, set the remote AUX button to control a Vizio tv.  Press and hold AUX and OK till Aux stays lit.  Press the TV device button to inform the remote it’s a TV.  Type in code 386.  Press Aux to save the setting.  AUX must blink twice.

3. Set the remote to use Aux for volume control of whichever activities you would like.  For use when watching cable: Press OK and CBL for 3 seconds, CBL must stay lit.  Press VOL + to tell the remote you’re setting the volume control for that activity.  CBL will blink.  Press AUX.  CBL will blink two times to confirm programming.
